7 Simple Steps to a Clean Closet

1. Get Rid of What you Don’t Want or Need – This process doesn’t have to be dreaded-think of it as shopping in your closet! Try on the things you haven’t worn recently. Is it something you would buy again? Keep it if the answer is yes. (Make sure it fits well, is in style, and that it doesn’t need major repairs.) The rest should be consigned or donated. Get the clothes that don’t fit currently out of your closet and into storage if your weight tends to fluctuate-put them in plastic bins in your basement or other storage area. Remember this: Your closet should be considered prime real estate, devoted only to clothes you currently wear.

My closets are a night mare and potentially a health hazard. Each time I open my front hall closet I raise my left arm in a defensive blocking maneuver. I had read articles on storage techniques and thought I was following some of the basic idea. It just wasn’t working for me. I needed help and fast.
